Fall 2010 Events
- October is GLBT History Month. Please view the Equality Forum website below to see the achievements of 31 gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender icons. Each day a new video will be available. Also make sure to visit the archives for the 62 icons honored for 2007 and 2006. Be surprised! Be educated!
- The Transgender Day of Remembrance was set aside to memorialize those who were killed due to anti-transgender hatred or prejudice. The event is held in November to honor Rita Hester, whose murder in 1998 kicked off the "Remembering Our Dead" web project and a San Francisco candlelight vigil in 1999. Since then, the event has grown to encompass memorials in dozens of cities across the world." Since 2008 UMM has been observing the day of rememberance. Please contact us if you would like to join us in 2010!
- We're supporting the Down East AIDS Network (DEAN) in their observance of World Aids Day. 100% Society invites you to "light to unite".
