AmeriCorps Victim Assistance Program

2012/2013 AmeriCorps Victim Assistance Program (AVAP).  AVAP and its members have been locally and nationally recognized for their work in expanding the network of victim services throughout New Hampshire to more effectively meet the needs of victims of domestic and sexual violence and stalking.

We anticipate placing up to 27 full and half-time members at crisis centers, police departments, prosecutor offices, child advocacy centers, Department of Corrections, Department of Justice, and colleges and universities throughout the state of New Hampshire.  The program year is scheduled to begin September 4, 2012 and end August 30, 2013.*

Full-time members will receive a living stipend of $12,100 before taxes.  Full-time members also receive health insurance, childcare benefits (if eligible), and an education award of $5,550.  Half-time members receive some pro-rated benefits based on total hours served.

This extraordinary opportunity is available with the AmeriCorps Victim Assistance Program.  By joining AVAP, people have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of hundreds of victims of domestic and sexual violence.  Once individuals join AVAP, they receive training from experts in the field of victim services, learn skills that transfer to any occupation and make valuable connections with other socially conscious individuals.

Students may call the AVAP office at (603) 224-6466 or e-mail us at info@avap1.org to obtain an application and information packet or visit our website at www.avap1.org
