June Welcome 2011
Dear Confirmed Student,
Congratulations on your decision to attend the University of Maine at Machias! You are joining a small university community with an excellent support system here to get you ready to go for the fall.
I would like to take a moment to invite you to attend June Welcome. This is our first event of the year and it’s designed to help you get an early start on your college career. June Welcome is a two-day event, scheduled for June 23rd and 24th, which takes place on the UMM campus. You will have the opportunity to register for classes, to meet other incoming students, to meet with faculty, advisors, and staff, and to explore the natural beauty of the Machias area.
June Welcome is totally free for students; the university covers the cost of meals and lodging. Family members are encouraged to attend but there is a small registration fee which covers the cost of meals on-campus. Family members do also have the option of reserving a room on-campus for a small additional fee.
This event is optional, but it is a great opportunity to meet with your future classmates and to get to know the campus better before classes begin in the fall. Please take a moment to review the enclosed schedule and fill out the registration form for June Welcome. I look forward to meeting you in just a couple of months!
